Not Less than 200 Bandits Attack Six Villages In Katsina in Nigeria
Over two hundred bandits armed with dangerous weapons including AK 47 rifles, have reportedly attacked six (6) villages in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina state in Nigeria.
The villages consist of Tsugunni, Yandaka, Salihawar Duba, Garin Goje, watangadiya and Dutse maizane were at the same time attacked.
“During their operation late on Thursday night the bandits were reported to have shot and Killed one Alaramma Kabiru Kano, aged 57yrs at Garin Goje village.”
The Police Public Relations Officer of the state police command, SP Gambo Isah reported the occurrence in a statement adding that three others were injured at Dutse Maizane.
He further explained that “unspecified number of cows and sheep were equally rustled.
The bandits laid ambush for the joint forces of military and police which led to heavy exchange of fire.”

Court in Nigeria Fines Man Forty Thousand Naira Over Failure To Wear Face Mask
An Ado Ekiti Magistrate Court has charged a fine of forty thousand naira on one Vincent Ikechukwu for reluctant to use a face mask which has become compulsory in the state since the wake of COVID 19 Pandemic.
“The offender who is the first to face such penalty will also engage in community labour for three days in addition to the fine.”
Not Less than a hundred violators including clergymen have been given various punishments in Ekiti State for violation of government orders meant to check the escalation of COVID 19.
The State government had last week released a fresh guideline to put on hold movement and activities during the pandemic season as Governor, Kayode Fayemi notified that violators will be put behind bars and prosecuted according to the framework developed by the State Ministry of Justice.

Nigeria Confirms 381 New COVID-19 Cases, Toll of Infections Now 3,526
Nigeria has confirmed 381 new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the Toll of the country’s infections to 3,526.
The Nigeria Center for Disease Control(NCDC), confirmed this in a tweet on Thursday. This happen to be the highest number of cases confirmed in a single day in the country.
Of the new cases, 183 are in Lagos, 55 are in Kano, 44 in Jigawa while 19 each are in Zamfara and Bauchi.
11 are in Katsina, nine in Borno, eight in Kwara, seven in Kaduna, six in Gombe, five in Ogun, four in Sokoto, three in Oyo and in Rivers, two in Niger and one each in Akwa-Ibom, Enugu and Plateau states.
The recent figures come amidst distress about the level of conformity with the steps put forward by the Federal Government for easing the lockdown in Lagos, Ogun and the Federal Capital Territory.

Nigeria Confirms 195 New COVID-19 Cases, Toll of Infections Now 3145.
The Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC), has confirmed 195 new COVID-19 cases in the country, taking Nigeria’s pandemic toll to 3145 cases
Of the new cases, 82 are in Lagos, 30 are in Kano, while 19 are in Zamfara and 18 in Sokoto.
Ten are in Borno, 9 in the FCT, 8 in Oyo , 5 in both Kebbi and Gombe state in Nigeria.
Four cases were confirmed in Ogun, 3 in Katsina, while Kaduna and Adamawa have on case each.
Meanwhile, 534 patients have recovered so far and have been discharged from the hospital, while 103 persons have died so far.

Chartered Plane bearing Nigerians To Lagos From Dubai Makes U-Turn
A chartered plane bearing Nigerian returnees from the United Arab Emirates has made a U-turn after a pregnant woman presummedly went into labour.
The Chairman of the Nigerian in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa made this known to Channels TV.
The plane, which was meant to reach Nigeria at 3 pm is now expected to land at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport at 7 pm.
“Foreign Minister, Geoffrey Onyeama also confirmed the u-turn during his speech at the Presidential Task Force orientation on COVID-19 on Wednesday.”
“One of the passengers, a lady, had a baby on the flight, or went into labour,” Onyeama said. “So the plane had to turn back. And I am happy to say mother and child are doing well in the hospital. And the arrival time has been rescheduled to 7 pm this evening.”
The Emirates flight is looking forward to be the first of at least two other flights scheduled to bring Nigerians within the next few days.
As said by the foreign ministry, consultations are ongoing with British Airways to airlift 300 Nigerians from London on Friday; positioning are also being made with Ethiopian airlines for a flight from New York to Abuja next Monday.
Atop 4,000 Nigerians are on the verge of evacuated across the world back home, foreign affairs minister, Geoffrey Onyeama said on Monday.

32 Health Workers Confirms corona virus Positive For COVID-19 In Kano
32 health workers in various hospitals across Kano State in Nigeria have tested positive for the coronavirus pandemic.
The state government made this known in a report via its Twitter handle in the early hours of Wednesday.
Although the government didn’t specifically state that the 32 cases were all health workers, the Chairman of the Nigeria Medical Association in the state, Sanusi Bala, confirmed this to Channels Television.
The new infections bring the toll of the cases confirmed in the state to 397.
Three have, however, recovered and been discharged while eight persons have died.

Nigeria Confirms 245 New Cases, Toll of Infections Now 2802
Nigeria has confirmed 245 new cases of the novel coronavirus, taking the country’s Toll of infections to 2,802.
According to a tweet by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday, the total deaths are now 93 while the total discharged are 417.
The nine cases that were previously made known as discharged cases in Nigeria, were confirmed in error. So for now, there are 417 cases that have been discharged
One case reported in Nasarawa in Nigeria was a repeat test. The state has a total of 11 confirmed cases at the moment.

Nigeria Confirms 220 New Cases Of COVID-19, Toll of Infections Now 2,388
Nigeria has confirmed 220 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the country’s toll of infections to 2,388.
As tweeted by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Saturday, of the new infections, 62 are in Lagos, 52 from the FCT, 31 in Kaduna and 13 from Sokoto.
The toll of deaths from the virus also rose to 85 as 385 have now recovered.

The Senior Pastor of the Covenant Christian Centre, Poju Oyemade, has said that the COVID-19 outbreak should be a an alarm call for the reshaping of Nigeria’s healthcare structure.
He disclosed this on Saturday during the Church’s annual Worker’s Day programme, The Platform.
