OFFICE OF THE FIRST LADY RECEIVES MEDICAL EQUIPMENT FROM LIFE FOR RELIEF DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION
The Office of the First Lady, on Saturday 8th July 2023, received a 40ft (Forty Feet) Container loaded with medical supplies from Life for Relief Development Organization for the newly constructed 34 Military Hospital Complex in Freetown.
The Coordinator of Life for Relief Development, Madam Fanta Smith, expressed appreciation to Her Excellency the First Lady for successfully undertaking such an ambitious project in the interest of giving back to the masses.
She highlighted that her organization was pleased to present the container of assorted medical supplies and equipment to complement the efforts of Her Excellency in providing modern medical facilities for Sierra Leoneans.
She used the forum as an opportunity to appeal to the medical team at the 34 Military Hospital to use the donated items for the intended purpose.
The Technical Adviser of Life for Relief Development, Mr. Hassan Lahai revealed that this was not the first time that the organization was making donations to support the awesome work of the Office of the First Lady, while expressing commitment to continue to support the aspirations of the people of Sierra Leone through the remarkable First Lady.
“We are pleased with the work of the First Lady and we appreciate what she has been doing across the country including the complete overhaul and transformation of the 34 Military Hospital into an ultra-modern hospital,” he said.
Receiving the items on behalf of Her Excellency the First Lady, the Director of Communications in the Office of the First Lady, James Bampia Bundu expressed appreciation over the intervention of Life for Relief Development Organization while encouraging the donors to continue to support such good causes.
He admitted that the donation was timely as it would aid the smooth operation of the hospital.
“Nurses and Doctors can be more productive when the required medical supplies are available,” he stated.
