Afrinity Production brings to you their exclusive interview with Omar Ceesay, a Nursing officer who is also working as the Senior Public Relations Officer at Bundung Maternal and Child Health Hospital.

Omar is the Executive Director of Catch Them Young -The Gambia and Nominated member of National Youth Parliament.

He is also the communication officer at Choosan Charitable Medical Foundation in the Gambia.

Omar is also a father and husband who is happily married to the woman of his life.

Omar believe that health care is a basic human right and he want to ensure a world where quality health care is available for everyone especially women and children. He equally, want to lead communication efforts that can transform lives through creating and sharing information that matters.

Currently working as the Senior Public Relations Officer where he is leading communication efforts in defeating covid-19 and equally providing content that transforms lives for people.

Coming from a health care background. He hold a Bsc in Nursing and Reproductive Health and currently Pursuing Masters in Community Health Nursing at the university of the Gambia.

Omar is inspired by his Dad, who shared everything he had in helping other families who needs support, this has transform his life to always look out for others.

Loosing his niece to cardic disease because of a lack of specialist stroked made him who he is striving to be and spank him in doing more for children’s health and well-being.

Omar make known of why his interest is mostly on kids. “There can never be sustainable development without the effective participation of children in nation building. And our societies will crumble if we don’t invest and promote their rights and welfare. These motivated me to choose children to be working with me and by ensuring their rights and welfare is protected and promoted” he said.

Omar further disclose what he dislike about the lives of children globally. Which includes, inadequate access to education and life saving skills to transform their lives.

Asking Omar who do he like to be compared to, he said Micheal Jackson, for doing wonders for children and for leading efforts in providing the necessary support for children in need.

His professional goal is to pursue masters in health care policy and financing, to be able to effect policies that can safe children and women from dying of preventable diseases and conditions.

Though he equally, want to have professional training in media and communication to add a face lift to the Gambian health care unit, communication and strategies.

Omar Ceesay, cannot do without his lovely family and friends. Mentioning that, they gave him so much reason to continue fighting and doing more for his country against all odds.
