What is the SMA?
Special Movie Awards (SMA) is a Night of Glitz, Glamour, Paparazzi to celebrate Movie Makers in The Gambia.
Who Can Submit a Movie?
Any Movie Maker registered and resident in The Gambia can submit a Movie.
What’s the Submission Process?
Your submission should include the following:
1.A completed application form (below)
2. Three DVD copies of your Movie
3. A trailer of your Movie. (Soft Copy in USB Flash)

It is here again, the 2016 Edition of the GCCI Business Awards Dinner.

GCCI Press Briefing On The Border Closure Between Senegal And The Gambia
Afrinity Productions attended a press briefing at the Gambia Chamber of Commerce (GCCI) on Friday 26th of February 2016 at their head office.
The main aim of the press briefing was to clarify the issues of the border closure between The Gambia and Senegal.
The chief executive officer of GCCI Mr Alieu Secka and his members expressed his concern over the situation as GCCI represent the voice of businesses in the Gambia. The closing of the border is affecting business both large and small, including local traders. GCCI contacted the Dakar chamber of commerce, Ziguinchor chamber of commerce and TANGO in the Gambia but still nothing is clearly confirmed.
Mr Alieu Secka and the president Mr. Mohammed Jagana visited the border between the Gambia and Senegal. The Senegalese authorities decided to introduce processing of all the transit documentation in Dakar instead of at the border, which causes long delays at all the border posts.
It can take up to seven days to get the authorization.
Questions raised by different media houses like daily observer, foroyaa newspaper, eye-Africa TV , standard newspaper , point newspaper etc were answered by the Mr Aliu Secka.
GCCI is doing its part to help resolve the situation and joining hands 
with the ministry of trade to come up with a possible solution in the shortest timeframe. Amongst those present were Mrs Beatrice Mboge and Mrs Sarata Conateh

President Muhammadu Buhari, who is currently in Saudi Arabia, visited Mecca in Saudi Arabia for Umrah, lesser Hajj (or the lesser pilgrimage).
Medina is the capital city of Al-Madinah Region of Saudi Arabia.
The two basic rules for how two perform Hajj are as follow:
1. If a Muslim intends to perform Umrah, he should take off his clothes, take a bath and then perfume himself.
2. After taking a bath, the Muslim puts on Ihram dress and prays if the time is for prescribed prayer.
It seems that President Buhari observers all needed procedures.
During his previous visit to the country as the military head of state in 1984, Buhari has reportedly visited the holiest site in Islam – Ka’aba.
Also called Ka’aba Muazzama meaning the Grand Ka’aba, it is believed the House of God and duplicates as the most sacred site anywhere in the Earth.
President Buhari’s other engagements in Saudi Arabia include meetings with heads of international financial organisations and multilateral associations.
Buhari is set to leave Saudi Arabia on February 27, Saturday, for Doha, the Qatari capital.
